What is Outplacement?

Outplacement is a service that supports people who are due to leave or have recently left their job, often as a result of redundancy or retirement. An employer will often enlist the services of an Outplacement provider to help employees during this transition period and support them as they try to find a new job or cope with the life style change that retirement brings.

What support can be provided?

That depends on the level of service agreed at the outset as we tailor our services every time. Some of the main areas we typically help with are:

  • Curriculum Vitae Review And Development
  • Psychometric Assessment
  • Job Search Support
  • Interview Techniques
  • Training Needs Analysis
  • How to Start Your Own Business
  •
Will you find me a new job?

The Urquhart Partnership recruit on behalf of a wide and diverse range of clients but sadly we cannot guarantee anyone a job.  What we can do is help you to improve your CV, job search and interview skills to maximise your chance of finding a new job. We also have an extensive network of contacts we can help you tap into, including other recruitment consultancies / agencies which can help also.

How is support delivered?

We normally deliver Outplacement support on a confidential, one to one basis as this can often be a difficult time for people. It also means we can focus on your specific needs which means we can prioritise and deliver help where it is needed most.

How long is an Outplacement service provided for?

There is not normally a set limit for this, although we typically find that support is provided over a timeframe of anything between 2 and 12 weeks. We can condense or expand this as needed.

How much will it cost?

Normally the employer picks up the full cost so it doesn't cost the candidate anything. The actual cost of Outplacement support can vary significantly depending on the level of support provided.  A typical package that covers all the main areas of support we provide will normally be in the region of £500 - £1000 per person. Give us a call if you need an accurate cost estimate.

Who delivers the Outplacement support?

We have a team of consultants who have taken lots of people through the Outplacement process over the years and are highly accomplished in providing support in this area. You can have a look at the profiles of our team on our Personal Profile pages.
