Our associate company cushydoos are proud to announce the launch of the fifth annual cHeRries Awards for excellence in HR, Recruitment and Training.

Nominations for the awards are now open, so if you know an organisation, team or individual who is the past 12 months has demonstrated excellent in commitment, innovation and strategic vision in their HR, Recruitment, Retention and Training Strategies, then why not nominate them for a cHeRy?

The glamourous and glitzy event will be held again at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on the evening of Thursday 7th of June 2012.

Employee Engagement Seminar - With guest speaker and author of ‘The Engagement Manifesto’, Alan Crozier

His new book, described as “24 carat gold”, offers clear, practical advice on how engagement can have meaningful and lasting impact, and is suited to CEOs, senior managers, HR practitioners, those responsible for organisational communication and students alike.

Belbin – How to use it as a Recruitment Tool

Our most popular lunch session provided attendees with a good understanding of Belbin Team Roles which allows it to be applied readily within their organisations with little or no consultancy support required.

The sessions gave an overview of Belbin Team Roles and specifically, how it could support the Recruitment Process. The process is simple but effective and allows for valuable information to be gathered as to a potential candidate’s fit to your vacancy, your team and your organisation.

Plus, not only did we give away a free lunch, but attendees also got a free copy of their own Belbin Self Perception Report.

AGCC Business Breakfast - Aberdeens Got Talent

As part of the business breakfast, UP's Managing Director, Campbell Urquhart presented an overview of the current recruitment picture in the North-east of Scotland and highlighted the key areas that businesses should be focusing on in order to improve their chances of attracting a first rate workforce. Campbell also disucssed some of the common pitfalls companies make when recruiting new staff and offer guidance on how to avoid them. Tying in with the breakfast's theme, and in a presentation with a twist, Campbell demonstrated how businesses can learn from the one of the UK's top talent recruiters - Simon Cowell.

Celebrate Aberdeen

The Urquhart Partnership and Cushydoos both took part in the hugely successful 'Celebrate Aberdeen' Parade. On June 11th 2011 at 11am, over 3000 participants took part in a parade down Aberdeen's Union Street to celebrate the 3rd sector.

The Urquhart Partnership were proud sponsors of Send-it - a social enterprise that provides work skills and training to adults recovering from mental health problems.

Cushydoos were also delighted to sponsor Home Start - an organisation that offers emotional and practical support to families through a network of home visiting volunteers.

Organised by cushydoos, The prestegious cHeRries Awards have now completed their 4th year celebrating excellence in HR, Recruitment & Training in Grampian and the North East of Scotland.

This year's awards were another fantastic success and were attended by nearly 500 people.

Young Enterprise Grampian Company Finals 2011

cushydoos were delighted to continue their support of Young Enterprise Grampian in 2011 after the fantastic success of 2008, 2009 and 2010's judging days and awards dinners. The event, held on Wednesday 4th May at the Marcliffe Hotel, was a fantastic success and we were very excited to be joined this year by none other than top business entrepreneur and current Dragon on BBC's Dragons Den, Duncan Bannatyne, as our special guest judge and after dinner speaker.
